welcome to pinot+pistols!
Here's a bit about me and what you'll find here
Pinot+Pistols is about two of my favorite hobbies—wine and guns—and various aspects of life related to those topics. It all began as a way to share my journey into Oregon’s Willamette Valley (known for Pinot Noir), as well as my journey into all things gun ownership, concealed carry, and self-reliance. While “pinot” and “pistols” are two very different topics that typically don’t go together, I love the dichotomy of these topics together in one space, as well as the parallels I’ve been able to draw between my learnings on both.
These topics can be intimidating, but I aim to make them approachable. By sharing what I learn along the way, I hope I can encourage you to expand your knowledge and capabilities in a way that is attainable, fun, and safe. There’s a lot to learn, and we’ll get through it together!
I don’t have formal wine education, nor am I a wine professional. I didn’t grow up around guns, nor have I received formal firearms training as a part of my profession. I’m just a semi-normal gal who has fallen in love with these two topics and I’m here to show you that you too can take your safety into your own hands or learn about wine even without a professional background.
To read more about how I got started in these journeys, check out my posts on How I Got Into Guns and Falling in Love with OR Pinot Noir.
Here on the blog, posts are grouped into four main categories, which you can find under the “blog” menu at the top of the page.
- Pinot: all about wine—wine tasting notes, winery reviews, wine travel, tips & tricks, and more.
- Pistols: all about guns—concealed carry stuff, gun ownership considerations, my rifle build, and more.
- Preparedness: all about general preparedness, safety, and self-reliance.
- Personal: life stuff, things that are on my mind, and other topics that don’t fit into the categories above.
